My first monstera. Bought her from Costco a few months ago. She seems to be doing alright but the more I learn about this plant species, the more I think maybe I need to act quickly to keep her thriving.

Do I need to separate her?

Is the pot size sufficient?

Does she need support?

I just picked up some orchid bark, perlite and Miracle Grow tropical mix and plan to get her soil conditions correct, but any feedback would be greatly appreciated—TIA! 🙂

She’s so bushy and lush, congrats on a gorgeous Monster 😍 I’d say the main issue I had with mine where it was several plants in one pot when I first purchased her was that as she got bigger and bigger it became problematic attaching her to a support because the aerial roots were all facing different directions. You want the support pole to be at the back of all the plants in the pot (or have a few poles but same idea). The back of the plant is the side where you see all of the hanging aerial roots shooting out. I just repotted mine today in forbidden cereal chunky mix, with a 6ft cedar plank and a smaller 5ft cedar stake – with Velcro plant ties.

Oh, also a pot with drainage holes at the bottom is a good call. They don’t like to have soggy feets 🙂‍↔️

I’d separate, but also she does look lovely super bushy. Totally up to you. She could use some support but again there’s like 4?? Maybe more or less stems in there so it would be a little hard to pole up every one. She looks lovely tho, whatever you’re doing is working. If she’s root bound definitely size up or separate.
