First time posting – I got this little guy at my local flower shop and later read nurseries put several plants in one pot. I’m new to monsteras and am not sure if I count each leaf as a plant? Also, do I need to support the one leaf that’s going sideways? I read doing that too early in development is bad for the plant.

Hey! So not every leaf is one plant. One plant is the summary of the leaves that are together in one stem. So the stem from where the leaves originate is one. From the picture I would say it’s probably 2-3 plants in the pot. You can also count the points where you can see new growth. Each growing point usually belongs to one plant.
The one shoot that’s going to the side can either hang downwards or can be put up on a coco fiber pole or a moss pole or something similar. In nature these plants climb upwards on tree trunks and then develop bigger leaves!
I find this YouTube video pretty helpful too:

Thank you! Do I need to separate them or are they okay growing together? Is the soil too high on the stems? This is how it came but I have no problem re-potting.
