I just repotted this aracucia heterophylla in its first bonsai pot. Does anyone with experience with this species have any tips? I bought this tree at a nursery last year. I first saw the tree two years ago, but it was far too expensive so I didnt purchase it. I came back a year later and it was half price. I have since shortened the trunk by a meter, and new young growth has emerged from the cut site. I have also lowered the soil line by 7cm to expose the gnarly roots. Other than that I have not pruned any foliage but I am waiting until next year as they do not like root disturbance and i want it to recover nicely before more stress is induced. What do you think?
