Today I got this year’s first batch of carrot and parsnip seeds in the ground. With the ever increasing cost of basic food items, growing your own food has never made more sense!
Packs of carrot and parsnip seeds are not at all expensive, and you can end up with hundreds of carrots for the cost of a small bag of carrots from the supermarket. Not only are they massively cheaper, they are fresher, tastier, more nutritious and free from chemicals as well!
Even if you don’t have a garden you can still easily grow some of your own veg. In this video I also start a small container of carrots going. Just as long as you have a small space beside your front or back door, or a small patio or even a small balcony, a container like this could give you the pleasure of growing your own carrots or parsnips, and in the coming months I’ll be comparing the carrots from this container to those grown in a much bigger raised bed!
