WEST FARGO — Behind-the-scenes work is underway as metro nurseries prepare for spring.
At Shey West Garden Center in West Fargo, they’re still weeks away from planting but are currently in the middle of organizing their courtyard.
Staff say the two months before Mother’s Day are among their busiest weeks of the year.
With snow still on the ground, they say their schedule will eventually rely on warmer temperatures to get the ground unfrozen.
“We’re looking for consistent temperatures above 50 degrees … when we can start planting and things like that,” said Dustin Gilseth, horticulturist at SheyWest Garden Center.
Weather pending, they hope to have all their flowers ready by the first full week in May.
