Planting 700 patterson onions. 400 spaced to get nice bulbs and 300 leftovers spaced for green onions. That leaves 20 bunches to find other gardens for. It was WAY cheaper to buy the case and give the rest away.

This is a new garden plot for us. This was the goat field for many years. So in addition to the natural fertility, we added several years of bedding and manure from the barn.

We're planning on putting a 10×12 greenhouse about where the little blue building is now. There will be buried water line and an irrigation plan that doesn't include kink the hose and move the sprinkler. There's also an orchard planned on the north side of the garden. After 18 years of shoving things wherever, we're finally planning for older age.

I have done the case. Yes, it’s very cheap per onion if you compare to 1 bunch only. Then you realize you have to weed it. I buy my bunches at the feed store. They order many crates and I can buy 1 or 100 bunches at $3.95 each. I pick up the 3 I want and move along. I also like getting my seed there at $1 per scoop from bulk.

    Garden looks great. Enjoy.
