Is this arugula? I thought that's what I planted but I'm not sure now. It's one of the only plants that survived the cold snaps in southern Georgia US. The flowers are clustered and yellow. The leaves are mostly smooth, with almost unnoticeable spikes on the underside that makes it feel a little rough. The leaf stems bleed a bit white when snapped in the middle. I mostly want to know if it's safe to eat 😅

He’s no stranger. He comes into the shop a lot, he’s arugula.

The leaves look like arugula but those flowers don’t look like any I’ve grown before. I mean…arugula has a pretty distinct smell. Give it a sniff?

The leaves look a bit like a dandelion but the flowers are more like hawkweed or flatweed. I would pull it, it’s definitely not arugula.

Sylvetta arugula does have yellow flowers like that, but the leaves are smaller on the ones I’ve seen. Like, this one’s leaves look like Eruca arugula but shiny, and the flowers look like Sylvetta arugula (aka wild arugula). If the flowers have exactly 4 petals each then I’d say it is arugula or a brassica relative.
