They’re so pretty but I feel like the price is pretty high, but they do have variegation.

For reference this is in canada so $33.11 USD, they are also 25% off atm

Do I do it lol.

Looks good and healthy!! Buy it, spring is coming, it will put out 3-4 leaves before winter. Give it a good chunky soil mix, support and fertilizer and before you know it will be the centerpiece of your room.

Could buy it now or wait till it gets even lower

It’s kinda high, but not crazy high. Monstera isn’t the cheapest houseplant out there. And you at least get a nice looking pot, though don’t use it if there’s no hole in the bottom.

That’s a good price in Canada in a ceramic pot for that size! Where were these, a big box store or grocery store?

  5. AlwaysToodles

That’s not a bad price. And there’s a good selection. I’d buy one.

It would cost you MUCH more where I’m from…

For $33.11 USD and good variegation, i would do it lol

  8. I live in an expensive country but I’ve seen these being sold for 20-25

They were selling them at my Walmart for $30 recently, so it seems pretty standard.

Insanely so. I just got one at least twice as big at Lowe’s for $60. At my Walmart, the small ones are $22.

Yes. Cuz I bought the same one with the same pot at Walmart for 29.99.
And prior to that at Home Depot, without the pot for 24.99 all the same size. In California

  12. To me, that depends on where you’re getting it. Too high for a generic box store plant that’s probably not been treated very well, and/or has been recently repotted by someone who may or may not know what they’re doing. You’d never know if it’s going to suffer shock from being repotted and in what quality of potting medium (probably cheapo, may not be showing signs of pests yet, etc).

But from a nursery that actually grew it for a while before they put it out for sale? Buy five.

    I think it’s a decent deal. Plus it’s 25% off. Why not?

    Update: I got him + a calathea

For the people with questions yes he was at a grocery store but not a big box one.

I am also very rural which may affect pricing on these types of things, basically zero competition to drive prices + this store is considerably reasonable for plants (like a pretty typical 6-8” pothos usually goes for less than $10).

Good price when you consider USD equivalent and it looks to be in a nicer pot

  16. Looks like 6 inch pot? And comes with a ceramic pot? Depends where you live..but not a terrible price..not amazing either. But those leaves are nice

  17. I got a TC from Metro for $20 CAD. Only slightly overpriced.

Oh – yall, I was at my local nursery yesterday and they had some thais that were smaller than that, and surprisingly, and in crappy condition. Normally everything there is just 👌 condition – yes, prices reflect small business, and that’s totally cool, but I about crapped on the spot when I flipped the tag.

TWO HUNDRED TWENTY-ONE (221) WHOLEASS AMERICAN DOLLARS.

Like…. Local Nursery…. what are we DOING here?!?!?!?!

  19. Chuck_H_Norris

that’s about what they typically cost at the store. Could get for less if you looked around a bit.
