Downtown Texarkana prepares for exciting 2026 Downtown Live!
“Organic gardening focuses on building healthy, living soil through compost and organic matter, avoiding synthetic chemicals in favor of natural pest control, and promoting biodiversity to create a self-sustaining ecosystem,” a press release stated. “Key practices include composting, crop rotation, companion planting, and using organic, slow-release fertilizers to nourish plants and soil microbes.”
Dr. Joe Masabni of Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Dallas will present the program. It will be held on Monday, March 9, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Room 326 of the Anita and Truman Arnold University Center Building on TAMUT’s campus, followed by a question-and-answer session.
