Soft morning light, early spring buds, and that first real feeling of the season changing. 🌿🌸 In today’s Early Spring Garden Walk, I’m sharing what’s developing since our last check-in—redbud trees swelling with lilac-pink buds, boxwood pushing fresh growth, and the prettiest “color echoes” happening right now between magnolia blooms and Obsession Nandina.

You’ll also hear why I don’t mulch in winter (leafy debris does the job!) and how that approach helps charming volunteer seedlings germinate once I start cleaning up beds. Plus, I’m teasing a full boxwood tutorial coming this week—feeding, care basics, favorite varieties, and what I look for in blight-resistant boxwood.

And as promised, I’m keeping you updated on changes in my skincare ritual: I’m sharing what I’ve been using the past couple of weeks, why it’s working for my skin (including barrier support), and how it fits into my everyday routine.

🌼 In this video:

Redbud buds + removing old seed heads for a cleaner spring “ribbon”

Boxwood early growth + upcoming care and feeding guide

Obsession Nandina (low maintenance, year-round color)

Daffodils (including miniature Tête-à-Tête) + the “ribbon of yellow” effect

Reseeding favorites like penstemon + how I thin, move, or share plants

If you love calm seasonal garden updates, cottage-garden color palettes, and practical plant care with a little lifestyle sprinkled in—welcome. 🤍

  1. We are under so much snow 😩We may not see any new growth until April or May!! Love seeing all of your new growth, I will just keep dreaming!

  2. The architecture in your neighbourhood is soo interesting and diverse. I’m always amazed at the magnificent trees in the US, particularly in the older, more stately neighbourhoods. It’s probably what makes them look stately.

  3. Charming neighborhood. Definitely not cookie cutter. I can't believe your magnolia has started blooming! Lucky!!!

  4. I dont see any discount or link when I scanned the screen for Okoa product!! Great vid anyway. I've watched the Hollister video twice now! Thanks!

  5. Linda! Here in Denver, the Alliums are coming up, as well as some of the self-seeded hellebores. And Joes has tons of hellebores and cyclamen. And no rain or snow much in the forecast. Oh well. Love all of the historic homes. Very reminiscent of the Denver Country Club neighborhood. OKC has a lot to recommend itself.

  6. I sure hope y'all only get good rain in the coming week and not the severe weather that is predicted. Stay safe! The garden is looking gorgeous. ❤

  7. Hi Linda, I'm curious to know how your snowball viburnum is looking right now. Last year you stated that yours would not bloom due to the cold snap, it was then that I realized that mine would not bloom either because at that time, mine was looking exactly like yours. If possible, could you show us how your snowball is looking right now. Thank you so much. I truly enjoy your videos. God bless.

  8. You have such a gorgeous face! I always admire your hair but I think you can wear it off your face for a lovely change! Not all of us can pull that off! XOXOX

  9. So exciting! It’s been an extremely rough winter (for people) in the Northeast and we all finally are getting some relief from the cold. How come you don’t mulch over the leaves? 14:19 & nice music!

  10. Those Grand Dame homes are beautiful, but they could use some expert gardening advice on plant selection and color! Might I suggest LV? 😉🌸🩷

  11. Such a beautiful neighborhood that you live in Linda! I love architecture, hubby is a professor of architecture, so seeing all the amazing styles in one place is phenomenal!!! Your garden is embracing Spring, some of my bulbs are just beginning to peak their heads out.

  12. How exciting the Redbud tree! And thanks for the look back to the ones at the fairytale house in their towering glory. I love when you show us clips of the old property. And I love when you do close-ups of all the seedlings. Beautiful neighborhood 🌱🌿

  13. I hope you continue to show us clips of the fairytale house property, Linda to remind us of the same effect once achieved from there. Quiet a foundation you laid for all things to grow! Now echoed at the cottage on the hill 🌱

  14. Linda I wish I had a tiny seedling identification chart! Maybe you could produce one? 🎉❤🎉 and darn it that penstemon isn’t hardy in some of our more northern zones 😢

  15. Ahh, so inspiring! We are a good month to 6 weeks behind you here in CT. Still waiting for the chest-high snow mounds to melt so the sight of daffodils and buds makes my heart so happy.

  16. Linda, I have never sown seeds before, I am giving it a try this Spring. Mostly for cut flowers. Can you advise on planting seeds?

  17. WHAT ARE THE TALL CYPRESS LOOKING TREES IN FRONT OF THE SPANISH STYLE HOME. i DIDN'T THINK THEY WERE HARDY IN okc. AROUND 14:41 OF YOUR VIDEO
