GARDENERS in Warwickshire can start cutting costs and growing stronger plants by attending one of a series of home composting workshops this spring and summer.
The free one-hour workshops are being held at libraries in Rugby, Kenilworth, Wolston, Alcester, Nuneaton, Bedworth and Atherstone from April to July.
They aim to provide the knowledge required to successfully turn kitchen and garden waste into nutrient-rich compost.
Warwickshire County Council is offering discounted compost bins to those who attend.
The council’s environment spokesperson Coun Darren Cheshire said: “Our home composting workshops are a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the simple yet significant impact that home composting can have.
“It’s an easy way for residents to enrich their gardens naturally, reduce waste and save a bit of money along the way.
“Our workshops provide all the guidance needed to get started, and with the added incentive of discounted compost bins, we hope many residents will take advantage of this opportunity over the next few months.”
