I've got this Lola in October and it is blooming for the first time!
I read somewhere that flowering takes up a LOT of energy, especially for younger plants and slows down overall growth. Is this true? If yes, then can I cut the flower stalks now to promote growth?

At the moment I'm excited for the flowers but I would prefer if it just spends that energy on growing instead.

Yes you can cut it, all your assumption is correct

If you’re keen to still keep the flowering stalk but don’t want the plant expend too much energy, I often just cut the stalk and poke it into another plant pot. Usually it will continue on doing it’s thing until it’s done. I usually use pots that are for herbs or other more moist soil because that seems to work the best. If you already have a house plant or something, that could work.

    Good luck either way!
