Were you just buying from the clearance section of the department? They put the neglected stuff for sale up to 75% off all the time. I check every other week on peak season and get lots of stuff that way. They usually just need to have the dead clipped out and refertilized or repotted . Also if they offer you 25% off, haggle with them and say I don’t know this is pretty beat up are you sure you can’t do better and they usually bump it up to 75% off.
