First year planting. Reading, it says when lower leaves are brown, it’s ready. Before I test-pull some bulbs, is this the kind of lower browning that indicates the bulbs are ready? Thx
I usually wait until May when just about all of the leaves are brown.

Mine look like this, too. I wouldn’t pull it yet until they give scapes at least. Harvest in mid May, or early June. Trim the scapes to get a bigger bulb.

Garlic take like 6-7 months. I’ve pulled them in late May when planting in late November
