NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Cheekwood Garden and Estates is set to reopen to the public this weekend, weeks after a deadly ice storm hit Tennessee, devastating the property and much of the surrounding area.
Cheekwood said that it was “significantly impacted” by the storm, just as “many of our neighbors across Nashville.” Last month, the 55-acre botanical garden and art museum said that one of its 100-year-old oak trees had to be removed after the ice storm caused a fatal crack in the tree.
“But the start of spring represents a season of renewal and hope,” Cheekwood said. “With warmer weather returning and the flowers beginning to bloom, Cheekwood is honored to serve the community as a sanctuary that Nashville families have cherished for generations.”

The property will reopen on Saturday at 9 a.m. Its annual festival, “Cheekwood in Bloom,” will run through April 12, with this year’s event honoring the nation’s 250th anniversary with 250,000 red and white tulips, purple-blue violas and hyacinths. Live music and food trucks will be available on select dates and times; details are available HERE.
Tickets are available online.
