Got a grow light and heating mat and some seeds. These one are tomatos using jiffy seed starting mix.
How do they look?
Are my lights too close or far?
Some are leaning even though I have under light directly even when 2 inches away.
Also, when can I thin them? I'd like to do it the soonest to allow for main one to have the most root space.
These are in 2.5 or 3 inch pot and will be potting up whenever it's time to a 6 inch 2 quart pot if that's ok size next.
Please answer as many questions possible please and thank you
Trying this set up this year vs started late with window sunlight.
I did just water because top was getting spotty dry.

Lights are too far away.
No heat mat after germination.
Don’t thin until you get at least 1 or 2 sets of true leaves. Next time you should try separating the seeds more so they aren’t growing right on top of each other.
Wait to pot up until they have at least 2-3 sets of true leaves. Or if the roots start coming out the drainage holes. I personally don’t pot up. I go from starting cell to the garden. But I live in an area that it’s already in the low 50s at night.
Start adding 25-50% diluted balanced fertilizer when you get your first set of true leaves.
I’d thin them now because they’re really packed in the same spot, competing for light, space, and nutrients.
Stick them outside whenever it’s above 50F, starting with one hour a day and building from there. It will make up for these grow lights being super weak.
