The one lighter egg is what our chickens have been laying since they started laying along with white eggs, however yesterday i found these 3 speckled eggs. Its not dirt or anything, i tried washing one of them and its part of the shell. Havent cracked one open yet. Is it a sign that something is wrong with our chickens or something? Any insight is appreciated!

Must mean you have really healthy birds. What’s your breeds? Are you a first time raiser of chickens.

Thats just how a lot of eggs are. Speckles are normal for many breeds of chicken. Lots of wild birds have speckled eggs

Float them in water. If they fully float, then I wouldn’t eat them. If they float a little, eat them right away. If they sink, they are fresh. It’s not 100% but this usually works.

Depends on breed, normal. If you wash eggs be sure to refrigerate them because the cuticle that keeps bacteria out of the egg is washed off. (It’s also called bloom) in a nutshell since hens lay and poop out the same hole they deposit a protective coating over the shell to keep all the gut bacteria out as it travels through to the vent. Since eggs are porous once the bloom is gone bacteria can enter. Pretty eggs!

Totally normal. Speckled eggs usually just mean extra pigment was deposited while the shell was forming. A lot of hens lay them occasionally and it’s nothing to worry about.

I see more speckled than solids tbh.
