I got this at Costco for cheap. Can anyone tell me what is going on with the roots and if I choice repot deeper? And – there are brown bits at the top of both stems I’m guessing maybe they were cut there – is that correct and is this normal? Brought it home and let it acclimate for about a month now and think it’s time to repot. Advice for soil and everything you can help with based on these pics. Thanks!

The tops of the fiddle leaf fig in the middle is where new leafs come from! It might need to be repotted, but mine show as well and I think that the fiddle leaf fig likes to be a bit root bound but if you need to repot I would re-pot in soil that is well draining I mixed my own with coco choir, perlite, and orchid bark, and potting soil and mixed it together! I put down like an inch and a half of the orchid bark and then the mixed soils and put it around the root ball I didn’t disturb it much!! Make sure you fertilize and give it plenty of light!! They love light!
