In Colorado and this is my first time composting. I’m using a tumbler and this is about 7 months in. I feel that in the winter I have to open it and chop it up with a shovel. Is this looking good for the upcoming gardening season? Any tips? Additives that would help get more of a soil ?

    Break up the clumps.

    Pee on it.

    It’s fine.

Gorgeous! Still some clumps but you could probably sift it at this point and put the finer particles to use.

It looks good. Tumblers have a tendency to produce these clumps but that has more to do with moisture than things not being finished, so just crush them up with your hands and sift, as someone said. In some parts you can just get a crate for milk jugs/cartons that have holes in the bottom and use that to sift or something like [this](https://enetto.com/kundkorg-30-l-giant.html?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=167478024&gclid=Cj0KCQiA8KTNBhD_ARIsAOvp6DJGxzRo_re3tX9nDj9UzXSR1F61lLXd-H7upfL38ysheQc1iXS4oIEaAihLEALw_wcB).

Very nice! I would use it in the garden.
