The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History is hosting a garden-themed event at 1 p.m. March 8.
Jana Milbocker, a popular speaker, author and designer, will share tips on how to prepare gardens for spring, according to a community announcement.
Milbocker will join Gardening for Life host Janice Donovan, manager of the Shirley G Cross Wildflower Garden, for a presentation on tasks such as pruning, propagation and winter sowing.
Milbocker has been a gardener and plant collector for more than 25 years. She lectures at flower shows, horticultural societies, garden clubs and libraries in the Northeast.
She published her first book, “The Garden Tourist: 120 Destination Gardens and Nurseries in the Northeast,” in 2018. Her second book, “The Garden Tourist’s New England,” features notable private gardens and off-the-beaten-path destinations for passionate gardeners. She is also owner of Enchanted Gardens, a landscape design firm in the Boston area.
Gardening for Life is an annual series at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History that brings experts across a range of fields to speak to hobbyists and professionals. Previous topics have included how to attract birds to your yard and how to identify invasive insects. The final event will be a presentation on the secret world of fireflies.
Tickets are $20 for non-members and $18 for members. Museum admission is an additional fee. Tickets can be purchased at ccmnh.org.
The Brewster Pollinators will be holding a bake sale at every event, with proceeds going to support their work.
The museum is located at 869 Main St. in Brewster. For more information, call the museum at 508-896-3867, ext. 133.
