First timer here and got this from a friend. There was another large leaf but it completely died so got the chop. 2 new leaves have appeared since I got it – the 2 very tall ones, and a 3rd is on the way. What can I do to make this thrive? Thanks!

    More soil.
    Less water.
    Do more research.

Bigger pot, soil not water, and direct sunlight if you can. Start with just slightly more sunlight than it’s currently getting and work up to full sun if available. Or maybe I should say a few hours of sun a day. That’s what mine get in the summer. In the winter they stay inside and slowly fade until spring comes and I can put them back outside.

Also, even when you have plants in water instead of soil, you need to change the water often. But in this case she needs potting soil and dirt

I don’t know if there is soil or only water in that pot but you need to take the plant out. A lot of the roots and maybe stem are probably rotten. Everything that is black and mushy should be cut away with a clean knife or something. This might be a lot. You should look af the cutting surface and there should be no brown inside the stem or you need to cut away more. Also remove the yellow leaves they are done. Let the cuts dry for a few hours at least and afterwards I would put it in fresh water in a clean pot. If al the rot was removed maybe new roots will develop. When you have clean roots again you can move the plant from water to soil. Good luck!

  5. Take it out of there, give those roots a good wash with water, cut away the rotten roots, plant it in a bigger pot than this with a nice chunky soil… Some decent nutrient soil + a good amount of perlite should do… She needs lots of indirect sunlight. I personally like to leave it in a window that has morning direct light but the rest of the day is indirect.

At least you get the subtle yellow hint, your plant is giving you.👍🏼😊

Idk why everyone here is saying ”oh my god get a bigger pot!”, that will fix nothing here?? The roots look like they’re almost fully rotted.

Everyone else has the pot/soil/water advice covered, so I would pile on 🙂

I recently got [these grow lights](https://a.co/d/06whAIEs) and I’m pretty happy with them. These will help with your sunlight issue.
