The Mansa police claimed to have solved the case of blind double murder of a real estate investor and his gardener at the former’s farmhouse on Sheller Road on the outskirts of Sardulgarh town. They have arrested the victim’s neighbour.
Jasvir Kumar, alias Kaka (48), a real estate investor and resident of Sardulgarh town, and Baldev Singh (45) of Mirpur village were found murdered at the farmhouse on Friday morning.
Mansa SP (Investigation) Manmohan Singh Aulakh said the accused, identified as Gurpreet Singh alias Neola, told the police during the investigation that his father had died about three years ago under mysterious circumstances and he suspected Kaka of being responsible for it.
“Though the matter was not reported to the police, he was nursing a grudge over the issue. He entered the farmhouse and killed Jasvir. He also killed Baldev as he was an eyewitness to the crime. The axe used to commit the crime has also been recovered,” he said.
He further said that to crack the case, multiple police teams were constituted and the investigation was carried out using scientific methods. During the probe, the police had initially rounded up Gurpreet, who lives near the farmhouse, on suspicion.
