Hello, I have a number of cactuses and enjoy growing them, but admittedly I don’t know enough about them.

I’ve had this cactus for around 25 years, initially in a pot and then for the last 5 years in this large built-in bed in my sunroom. In the bed it’s tripled in size! It’s now touching the ceiling and I don’t know what to do to help it. Any ideas on the type of cactus or how to address this would be very appreciated!

Some closer pictures would help with ID but dayum that’s a big cactus lol. The huge yellow spines and blue make me think pilocereus azureus or blue torch though

  2. Cactus are pretty easy to propagate. I would cut off the tallest column leaving a foot or two. It will eventually make a new pup or two from where you made the cut. Let the piece you cut off callus for at least a week or so and then replant it. Refrain from watering for a month and it will grow new roots. Watering too soon will cause it to rot.

Provavelmente é um pilosocereus pachycladus, corta ele na metade e replante a ponta. Já que não dá pra crescer pra cima, faz ele crescer para os lados.
