Drove 45 min to visit a new spot specifically for a pink alocasia black velvet. Saying the plants were in rough shape would be an understatement. I talked the owner down to 40% off and took this thrip motel home for $35CAD ($22USD). Good roots, new growth and a big rehab project for the spring..

It looks fine to be honest. It’s got a decent set of roots and the corm looks fully intact. Don’t go by the condition of the foliage, they will regrow it in time, as it is already pushing a new leaf. Just gotta nurture it a bit, keep it nice and humid/warm and give it time.
The last pic is worrying, did you buy it from there?
