Got this frydek a little bit ago, repotted it into chunky soil and took out the self watering rope, but ever since then it’s been droopy and leaves have been yellowing and falling off slowly. I don’t know why or what to do. I’ve fairly certain it’s not the root, I quite bad at watering so most of my plants are a little underwatered but I don’t know if that could be the issue? Should I be fertilizing more? Closer or further from the light?

Give her much bright indirect light and much fertilizer. Alocasias are really hungry plants. This could also be a little repot stress, but mine didn’t reacted that much to the repot. Also take a look if you have spidermites…
