I’ve got this small weedy patch on my lawn with this white bud tipped weed being the prevalent one. I can pull them out by hand one by one but wondering if there is a more effective way?
Mullumbimby couch. It’s a sedge, like nutgrass but grows in a matting habit via stolons (like buffalo grass) rather than in tussocks/clumps.
It also drops seeds (the white things are seed heads with loads of seeds in each).
It likes damp wet areas. You can spray woth sedgehammer, or untangle and pull up the runners (for small patches this is what I recommend). You need to find it and keep pulling it up (or spraying) before it gets to seed otherwise it’ll return every year. Get to know the leaf colour and treat as soon as you find it and dont let it seed.
As it has dropped seed you’ll see it appear each year until you exhaust all the seeds.
