The Botanist is an NPC you can find in the central area while playing Garden Horizons. She’s a character who’s after specific mutation samples that might get on your plants while they grow. When you speak with her, she’ll have some quests for you to complete, and getting them done can be a challenge. Here’s everything you need to know about all quests from the Boatnist and the rewards you get for clearing them in Garden Horizons.
All Botanist Quest Rewards
You can find the Botanist, Maya, by making your way to the center area, the same location where you sell your crops and buy new seeds. Click on the “Seeds” or the “Sell” icon at the top of your screen, and make your way over to Molly’s Gear Shop. You’ll find the Maya’s stand next to Molly, and you can speak with her to receive your first quest.
Maya has several dialogue options for you to choose from. For the quests, click on the “What do you need?” option, which should be the third choice. She’ll tell you exactly what she’s looking to acquire, and how much of it you’ve already provided her.
Each quest from Maya has you on the hunt for a particular mutation that your plants can get, along with a set amount of wait time. For example, our first quest with Maya was to acquire 1.5kg of Sandy crops and bring them to her. You’ll have this task until you complete it for her. Any time you speak with her about your progress, Maya shares with you how much you’ve acquired of the required amount, and the type of mutation she needs.
For a crop to get a mutation in Garden Horizons, it needs to be growing during a set weather pattern. For the Sandy mutation, the crop needs to be growing during a Sandstorm. The weather changes in Garden Horizons every 5 minutes, meaning if you don’t have the weather condition you’re looking for immediately, don’t worry! It won’t be long before you have another chance.
When you have the amount you want to give to Maya, speak with her again and ask, “Donate all matching crops.” Maya will take all the crops associated with the mutation she’s looking for, allowing you to progress the task without missing out on items you can sell! If there’s a mutation you don’t want to use, speak with her about appraising your fruit, and there’s a chance it can receive a random mutation, and potentially the one you need for her current quest!
A good way to increase the weight and speed of crops growing in your garden is by using a sprinkler tool on them! Speak with Molly to buy one from the Gear shop.
These are all the tasks you can get from Maya, and the rewards you get for completing them in Garden Horizons.

Whenever you complete one of these quests from Maya, you’ll receive an IGMA Seed Pack. This has the chance to contain a Biohazard Melon, Lablush Berry, Starvine, Radiant Petal, or an Octobranch.
Upon completing your first task with Maya, she begins to count down from 40 as you continue to complete more of these tasks for her. When you complete all 40, she rewards you with a Premium IGMA Seed Pack.
During your journey of completing these 40 tasks, Maya rotates on which mutation she wants. You can expect to receive a task to collect any of the six we’ve posted, and you can expect the offered reward each time, along with the set weight she’s looking to receive.
You have until the conclusion of the IGMA event to work through these quests and receive additional IGMA packs for a chance at exclusive crops! Expect the IGMA event to end on March 15.
