What if you could grow fresh food year-round… even without electricity? In this video, we tour an incredible off-grid greenhouse that produces food in every season—no fans, no power, and no dependence on the grid. From citrus and bananas to tomatoes, avocados, and greens in the middle of winter, this passive greenhouse provides true food security and peace of mind.

This is more than gardening. This is preparedness. When supply chains fail, power goes out, or grocery shelves are empty, having a reliable food source you control changes everything.

We’ll show you what’s growing, what’s working, lessons learned, and how this greenhouse design makes year-round food production possible—even in a cold climate.

  2. What are you doing to increase your food security? There are many ways to increase that security…a greenhouse is just one of many. The critical task is to do what you can do with a smile on your face and increasing peace in your hearts! Let's get it done!

  3. What an amazing couple! We have a small polycarbonate greenhouse. It's really only used a couple months a year for garden seedlings. I use multiple 4-gallon black jugs filled with water for passive solar, and they'll maintain 8-10º above outside temperatures, not good enough for winter with frigid gray weeks of temps in double digits below zero (and wind chills of -40º). I'd LOVE to have fresh tomatoes and salad and avocados all year!

  4. Extend the season for warm weather crops, particularly tomatoes. Keep greens growing all winter. Provide a winter area for chickens and have them make and stir compost, lay eggs, eat any leftover bugs and renew the greenhouse soil. Alternate halves that the chickens use each winter. Propagate plants in the spring and year-round.

  5. This was such an inspiring video! Thank you for the tour. I hope to one day have a small greenhouse on my new property. I have much to do to prepare the barren desert ground for planting. I am assembling several raised beds so that I can at least get some spring and summer greens started. I love salads and would fill a greenhouse with a variety of green and purple nutrient dense leafy edibles.

  6. It would be nice to include their zone, this isn’t possible in all zones. Zone 3 is too cold.
My daughter and her guy are building a deep winter greenhouse, it will be fun to see how it does !

  7. I would love a greenhouse. I would definitely lean more towards the tropical fruits. Liked and Hyped!!

  8. I really enjoy watching your videos! I'm so glad I subscribed to your channel back on Jan 27 for Freeze Dry February. Your channel is definitely a favorite of mine. This year, we're excited to try out some above-ground planters—they're arriving this week! We've got all the growing soil ready, so once they arrive, we'll assemble everything and start planting. We're focusing on plants that can handle the cold in zone 5/6. I can't wait to see what you share next about your gardens! Thanks Cheers from Colorado
