Was very sad to see this on my second year strawberry plant this morning. I didn’t get any strawberries last year b/c they kept getting eaten so I tried painting rocks to deter animals(birds & squirrels)this time.
There seems to be one immature flower that was completely chomped off and another that was forced open and some of its insides were ripped off. I’ve also noticed the leaves look like someone took a bite too.
I‘ll probably look into a mesh/wire cover but I wanted to ask if anyone has an idea as to what exactly could be eating my plant. I’m thinking it’s the squirrels? 🐿️

looks like they are falling off due to blossom end rot ( Calcium deficiency )
the leaf eating is different
squirrels arent an issue,,,,, yet
Birds likely
