A lot of people have been asking for a lychee update.
This tree has been in the ground for 4 years in our backyard food forest.
It handles winter beautifully and pushes strong spring growth and flowers. It will usually holds a few dime-sized fruit and then drops them in late April.
Growth is slow, but it’s finally starting to branch out and build structure.
If you’re planting a lychee tree, I recommend starting with a 7g or 15g tree because you’ll get fruit much faster.
