We have an indoor herb box, and I’ve noticed this stuff on the rosemary, cilantro, and parsley. Searching seems it might be thrips? Is it? If so, what’s y’all’s favorite option to treat with household stuff? If not, is there a different treatment? There is drainage, but I only water enough that it doesn’t drain. It gets full sun in the window south side of house. Any prevention going forward? Sorry for all the questions!

It does look like thrips and it looks pretty bad. I’m not sure what you could use on herbs…short of pruning back to the soil and that’s not a guarantee. Thrips lay eggs in the leaf tissue so you have to treat multiple times over the next few weeks to break the life cycle. Maybe start over 🙁 sorry! Maybe someone else has a solution but thrips are tough to eradicate once you have adults and I see two in the second picture.
