Looking for ideas on what to plant in this area:

MN zone 5a borderline 4b

East facing, full sun

The soil almost never dries and will also take a lot of roof runoff from rain unless I add gutters

My goal is to make this area as manageable and low maintenance as possible but keep it looking nice if you pass by and beneficial to environment.

Any suggestions for 1-2 natives that won’t flop for this area? I could leave visible mulch or I can densely plant.

I have two other native gardens so I don’t need plant diversity in this one.

Carex spp. planted densely. Pick something like Fox Sedge that likes wet sun.

Black eyed Susans, bee balm, butterfly weed, Columbine

Edit: When I don’t want to plan a space, I buy the PDQ mix from Prairie Moon and fill a space. I see what survives and thrives without my involvement (beyond some weeding).
