My boyfriend picked this up at the grocery store where I don’t think it was cared for very well. What do I need to do to care for this plant? Should I repot them each in their own pot? How much water do they need and how often? Where should it sit in my house in terms of direction light?

I don’t know much about plants so any advice is appreciated.

Thank you for posting to r/plantclinic!

It looks like you may be asking about a cactus or succulent. In addition to any advice you receive here, please consider visiting r/cactus r/succulents for more specialized care advice.

A common problem with cacti and succulents is etiolation. This is when a succulent stretches or becomes leggy. Reply with “!etiolation” for advice.

    Neglect her! 😂
But really, don’t overwater. I have mine in a sunny window. I like to stick the tip of my finger in the soil and if it’s dry then I’ll water. Does the pot have holes? If not be careful overdoing it, if so let it run out the bottom! Best to you. Super cute gift

These are succulents, desert plants. Keep that in mind when taking care of them.

Give them as much direct light as possible. If they don’t get enough, they will get very elongated to search for light.

As for water, they don’t need much. Again, they’re desert plants. At most water once a month, but realistically like every 2 months or so. But when you water them, drench those suckers. Make sure that the pot has holes at the bottom for excess water to drain out, and loose chunky soil with rocks and stuff in it because they don’t like sitting in a puddle.

Succulents are very low maintenance, and often do best forgotten about and left alone.
