So I’m pretty new to the plant game so I don’t know if it’s too close to the window or something, but before I went on vacation for about 4 days my monstera did not have this big burn looking spot. The monstera, as well as my other 2 pothos plants have little holes like show in the last 3 photos. But I haven’t seen any bugs.

All of them pretty close to the window, the monstera being right in front of the window getting direct sunlight all day. We recently moved and it definitely gets more light than it used to in the new place. We also recently got blinds so that should help if it is a sunlight issue.

For watering habits, we water when the top soil is pretty dry so about every 2 weeks sometimes less often if it stays moist. The pothos we do pretty much the same thing.

Too much light. The grow natively on the rainforest floor of costa rica. They can handle excess light somewhat for a while if you give them excess water. The good news is the plant won’t die, the non-burnt part of the leaf will still provide energy and the plant will continue to grow. The bad news is that the damage will not heal and you’ll just have to wait for it to become the bottom leaf that the plant yellows and drops off.

I wish I had a too much light problem.
