A North Bay construction and landscaping materials company has opened a new location in Santa Rosa, while unifying operations under a new name.
Soiland Co., Inc. has opened Yard & Garden at the corner of Llano Road and Highway 12, selling compost, soil and mulch for homeowners, contractors and landscapers. The location will also offer materials sourced from Soiland’s Rock Quarry and Soils Plus operations, including gravel, sand, rock and drain rock.
The opening of the new location coincides with company-wide rebranding for the family-run operation. Stony Point Rock Quarry, Soils Plus, Green Recycling Center (formerly Grab N’ Grow) and the new Yard & Garden will all operate under the Soiland Materials name.

“Opening this new Yard & Garden location and bringing everything together under the Soiland Materials name helps us serve our community and industry better,” Mark Soiland, owner & CEO of Soiland Materials, said in a news release. “We have been, and plan to remain, a locally owned and locally operated company, rooted in Sonoma County and committed to locally sourced materials.”

The Yard & Garden location is already open for business, with a grand opening scheduled for March 14.
The company said in a news release the opening is part of its broader operational shift. As Sonoma County’s only privately held composting facility, the company said it will increase local production of soil and compost and reduce the transfer of organic materials to other counties.
In addition to green debris composting, the company processes and reuses concrete, asphalt and other construction materials at its quarry and soils facilities. It said the Grab N’ Grow location on Llano Road will become Green Recycling Center, a dedicated site for dropping off green debris, branches and wood that will be turned into compost.
Going forward, all customer pick-up of soil, compost and landscaping materials will move to the new Yard & Garden location.
