Some system plumbing questions

    Hi everyone,
I recently bought a house and inherited a pretty messy water treatment setup, so I’m planning to replumb the entire system.

Right now the order is: pump → pressure tank → iron filter → softener → 2.5×20 cellulose filter → UV.

    I have a few questions:

    1) I’m planning to add a Big Blue sediment filter — should it go before or right after the pressure tank?

    2) I also want to add a spin-down filter before the 2.5×20 filter.

    3) The current piping is a mix of PEX, copper, and PVC. I have a stockpile of Schedule 80 PVC pipe and fittings — can I use that to replumb the system up to the UV outlet, or would it be better to stick with PEX?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

My sediment filters are before my pressure tank. Mine goes. Sediment. Pressure. Softener. Iron. Charcoal. Sediment. Not sure if it’s right. I I writes my mess too.
