I got this polka dot plant a week ago. I’m new to plant care.

It’s kept in a southeast-facing window that gets plenty of light, but no direct sunlight (at least not for too long).

Humidity is a problem in this room, so I’ve placed it next to another plant, and I sometimes move it to more humid parts of the house for a few hours. I also spray it with water every morning. The soil is not kept wet or waterlogged – just moist. I water it when the topsoil is dry, however I have noticed the roots stay wet for very very long. I bottom water it. They are nice and white, no rot yet.

I’m noticing browning spots on the leaves, and if you look to the left of the picture, there’s a cluster of leaves with holes in them.

What should I do?

I think it looks fantastic. I’m not really seeing a big issue here. Maybe sometimes leaves just get holes?. Misting only raises humidity for like that moment (plants that like humidity like consistent elevated ambient humidity not just a spritz of it) so perhaps it doesn’t like misting. Some plants don’t like to move around so much. Your watering sounds okay, these guys get so dramatic and wilty if they get dry. Plenty of light but no direct sounds great. It can get burned if it is too much direct. Idk, I really think it looks very healthy. Leaves browning and falling off can be a natural cycle of a plant growing, especially as I see new growth on this guy.
