Lidl’s “middle aisle”, similarly to Aldi’s Specialbuy section, is an ever-changing aisle in the centre of Lidl supermarkets, stocked with a surprise selection of items, ranging from power tools and air fryers to gardening supplies and homeware.
Stock in the middle of the store generally changes every Thursday and Sunday, with shoppers seeing a host of new items introduced. This week Lidl is helping customers prepare for Mother’s Day with a selection of gifts ranging from perfumes to foot spas.
There are also plants, gardening and baking items, and washing and cleaning tools.
Indoor and outdoor plants
A new selection of indoor and outdoor plants will be coming to the Middle Aisle this week. Shoppers will find outdoor plants with prices from £2.99 including primroses, hydrangeas, azaleas and mini succulents.
Indoor plants include mini roses (£2.99) as well as orchids in ceramic pots (£11.99) and gift wrapped calla lilies (£6.99).
Seeds start from 29p and include flowers, fruit and vegetables.
Gardening
Over 80 Middle of Lidl products will make up this week’s Garden Event in stores from Thursday, March 5.
The Parkside Electric Scarifier/Aerator is £84.99 and is said to be ideal for “rejuvenating the lawn”. Shoppers will also find the Parkside Electric Chainsaw (£59.99), Parkside Pressure Washer (£99.00) and Parkside Garden Shredder (£74.99).
For a shed or decking makeover, there are paintbrushes, wood oils and wood stains as well as metal paints.
Other gardening equipment includes pruning tools, secateurs, spades, weed pullers, brooms, rakes, hoes, and trowels. There are also kneeling pads, gardening gloves and nesting boxes.
Mother’s Day gifts
With Mother’s Day less than two weeks away Lidl is offering a selection of gifts and cards including beauty and homeware items from Sunday, March 8.
The Cien Beauty Hot Air Styler is £29.99 and comes with five styling attachments. The Sensiplast Foot Spa is £24.99 and is said to be ideal for “relaxing, pampering and refreshing tired feet”.
Homeware gifts include the Livarno Home Ultrasonic Aroma Diffuser (£12.99) which acts as a humidifier and aromatic oil diffuser in one. For £2.99 shoppers can find stackable jewellery trays, which are also available in a multibuy offer of four for £10.
There are also hair turbans, pyjamas, artificial flowers, puzzle books and poster frames.
Easter baking
Anyone looking to do a bit of Easter baking can find a selection of cookware in stores from Sunday. The Silvercrest Stand Mixer is £74.99 and can be used to mix, whip, knead and puree. The smaller Silvercrest Pink Hand Blend Set is £14.99 and comes in pink, white or green.
Shoppers will find cake tins from £3.99 including loaf tins, round tins and fluted tins. Pyrex jugs are £4.99 and the brand is also selling a tart dish and a mixing bowl for the same price.
There are also cake and other food storage boxes, plastic cups, plates and cutlery, sieves, baking trays and recipe books.
Washing and cleaning
Sunday will also see new washing and cleaning items arrive in the Middle Aisle.
The Philips Steam Generator Iron is £79.99 and the Silvercrest Cordless Steam Irons are £16.99. Shoppers can also find the W5 Rotary Clothes Airer for £39.99 which offers 54 metres of drying space.
There are also laundry baskets, vacuum storage bags, coat hangers, towels, bath mats and collapsible crates.
