Hello! This is my golden pothos i’ve had climbing for the last few years- it’s suddenly gone yellow on the edges of the leaves.

I water when it’s dry about 2 inches deep(and check the bottom/sides for any wet spots bc clear pot ). i also fertilize every other watering through the winter because i have a pretty bright light (fertilizer contents attached). it doesn’t appear to be overwatered/root rot and doesn’t smell. i’m pretty good about keeping my eyes on that

i use a super chunky soil and i keep the moss pole fairly watered- it does have a decent set of roots in the pole now. No pests, or at least none that i saw.

I had to leave town for a week and couldn’t move my plants around to be on a timer. I kept the light on but moved it a foot or so back. When i got back is when i noticed it.

I took pictures a on the 14th (Feb) and it didn’t have any spots, but i noticed tiny brown tips. A little concerning as i’ve put a lot of love into this guy. I’m thinking either nutrient deficiency or too much nutrients. What do we think?

I can tell by your photo that you take excellent care of your plants, so you obviously care for them and I can understand why you’re concerned. Did you give it extra water before you left? Was it extra-dry when you returned? Like the bot says, it’s likely a watering issue. Lack of ideal light for only a week shouldn’t have done anything dramatic, but I’m wondering about the fertilizer. Try this: trim off the dead bits, stop fertilizing for a month or so and see if it resolves. That won’t make anything worse. In the meantime, hopefully someone with more knowledge than me has a better idea, and best wishes for your beautiful pothos.
