The purple is the natural color, the blue is injected dye

Oh that’s a pity they felt the need to dye what was already a very pretty orchid! The blue is fake but it still should have lovely purple spots and some yellow in the centre when it reblooms
That bloom that doesn’t have much or any blue is what it will look like next time it blooms. It’s a pity someone felt the need to dye such a natural beauty.

It’s injected dye. Trust me, been in your shoes before. Posted here and quickly found out how wrong I was.

When I was in elementary school, we definitely did a project at some point where we put a cut white flower in food coloring to get this effect. Is that not a common thing in schools? i get that the orchids aren’t cut when they do this, but I feel like it looks the same
