hi guys I'm new to gardening and trying to get my bearings on how things work, I've never done this before but I'm trying to grow a port wine magnolia and I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong here, I'm in a hot region of new south wales about 25° to 35° depending on the day and I've been watering daily or every second day. could someone please help

Check out what kind of light it needs. Keep in mind that ambient temp near all that concrete is going to be hotter than the forecast, and black plastic pots cook the roots. I like to put my plastic pots inside decorative pots so they stay cooler, look better, but can be potted up a bit easier when time comes. How big is it meant to get? It may need a bigger pot or a spot in the ground.
*Bricks, not concrete, but same point haha
These trees can exceed 40 feet (there’s one next door). If you trim them you can reduce height by 50%. They like full sun (or flowering will be delayed & reduced). They will need a bit more space for the roots.
