Moss spore pods! Give them a mow and you’ll be fine.

I saw a video by California Carnivores where the spores were pulled out in small numbers resulting in a cleaner look than mowing. You have to figure out the max amount to pull out at once and if you choose too many, you’ll end up pulling out the moss/soil.
