Cooler day here in PA but sometimes you just have to trust your judgement. I think lots of times people wait too long to plant cool weather crops, afraid of a frost. But what's worse, a frost setting you back a couple weeks where maybe you have to replant a few seeds, or going through it all and growing, fertilizing and watering only to have a week in the 80's when you finally start harvesting and everything bolts? It's definitely a balancing act for lots of us. I started radishes, beets and carrots in some of my raised beds and in my new GreenStalk today I started a lot, Tatsoi, Red Russian Kale, Rainbow Chard, Baby's Milk Bok Choy, Purple Lady Bok Choy, Pak Choi Bok Choy, Prizehead Lettuce, Paris Island Romain Lettuce, Devils Ear Lettuce, Merlot Lettuce, and inside I started a couple different peppers, a mini bell and a banana pepper. I still have my 2nd GreenStalk to refresh and start up. Eventually I'll transition both to mostly peppers, cucumbers (which grew incredible last year) and pollinator friendly flowers. I freaking love love this time of year!!! Oh, in my AeroGardens inside is where I started the peppers and everything I mentioned that I started today in my GreenStalk I also have started in my AeroGardens, those will be about 2 weeks ahead of what's in the GreenStalk so once those get a few inches high I'll move them to the GreenStalk for an earlier harvest.
