Really enjoyed the exhibit and sale at the Orchid Obscura show in SF!!! It was my second time going and it is just super inspiring!! I got this outdoor orchid that I thought was terrestrial, but the lady said to only transplant w bark. I’d like to look it up, but it didn’t have a tag. Can anyone help me identify?

Cymbidium but not sure what type. Love the SF Orchid Show!

Beautiful. I think Cymbidiums can best be described as semi terrestrial. Hybrids might incorporate species that are lithophytes, epiphytes or terrestrial. A well draining bark mix with some moisture retaining material is good.

I had a great time at the show yesterday too. My purchase includes a Pleione, a couple Disas, a Dendrobium and a Tolumnia. For those in the SF Bay Area, the show concludes today. Often a lot of bargains at closing time!
