Was out exploring yesterday, and noticed this fun natural phenomenon. Looks to me like this cherry tree (I think cherry anyway?) was struck by lightening? And then part of the top shot into the ground and stuck there upright? What do you think?
I am not entirely sure where the rest of the top of the tree even went though. I tried to be Walt from Breaking Bad and “put the broken plate back together” with my imagination and it seems like some shards are missing.
Also, am considering how one could extract the “cherry shard” from the ground, cut it, and keep the thin slab on the bottom for a lightening split shelf. It’s seriously perfectly thin.
Just thought people here would think this is cool and wanted to share!

I have seen this happen at my work from dropping broken wood. Piece flew up in the air, flipped, then impaled itself in the ground. Was pretty cool to watch but man those splinters will hurt.
