Yes, where are you located? All mine froze this year (central florida). Occasionally, we get a hard freeze, but this year was brutal. Several nights of freezing temps, one night was 15 degrees. So many of my plants look dead or are dead. Hopefully, some will eventually recover.
I have always loved Bougainvillea, I just hate pruning it! I have had a thorn go through my shoe into my foot twice.
Yours is lovely 😍.

Dude, that trunk saw at least a decade of sunshine before you and mom started coaxing it. They bulk fast once the roots hit good soil, but a base that thick means an old field plant lifted from a nursery row. Keep tipping the leaders right after each bloom flush and you will keep color coming without the monster turning into a thorny freight train. Sharp bypass pruners, long sleeves, patience. Enjoy the shade, crack a cold drink, roll on. 😁

The flowers in full bloom! Look so pretty! The pics remind me of my parents’ old house with a bougainvillea arch.
