Carlow County Council has launched a new pilot Seed Library at Carlow Library to support community food growing and climate action across the county.

The initiative will provide free heritage vegetable seeds to registered local growers who take part in workshops and return saved seed at harvest time.

The project promotes biodiversity, waste reduction and food resilience in Carlow and “Grow Your Own” workshops begin on March 21.

The project is delivered by local grower and seed expert Molly Aylesbury of Bare Necessities Ireland.

Advance booking is essential, as only registered participants can access the seed supply.
