A TALK is set to bloom with advice and inspiration for gardeners and growers alike.
Penketh and Sankey Gardening Society will host its next meeting on Thursday, March 5, featuring a guest talk by Sarah Haisley of the North West branch of the National Sweet Pea Society.
Ms Haisley, who regularly delivers talks to gardening clubs across the region, will focus on the much-loved sweet pea – a flower celebrated for its vibrant colours and distinct fragrance.
Sweet peas are known for bringing both charm and scent to gardens every summer, making them a favourite for cutting and displaying indoors.
The meeting will be held at The Olive Tree on Chapel Road in Penketh.
Penketh and Sankey Gardening Society meets at the Olive Tree on the first Thursday of every month at 7pm.
Annual membership is £15, with a £2 admission fee for each meeting.
Visitors are also welcome to attend for a £5 admission fee.
The society encourages gardeners of all experience levels to join and take advantage of monthly talks, friendly advice, and opportunities to connect with fellow gardening enthusiasts.
Meetings feature a mix of speakers, practical demonstrations, and the chance to share tips and ideas in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
The upcoming talk is expected to be of particular interest given the enduring popularity of sweet peas among growers in the region and beyond.
