Hi guys!! I have been wanting to start an herb garden for a quite a while but we live in an apartment with limited space. I would like to get everyone’s opinions on my pot sizes. I kept finding a lot of mixed information.
In the third & fourth picture I have oregano, thyme, and rosemary in one pot.
Fifth picture is the tomato and basil I’d like to plant , I’m waiting on a bigger pot first.
Seventh picture is the cucumber plant we got, I’m not sure how well it could do. My mom was recommending we put it in a big pot and let it climb up.

Nice! The basil grows quickly and could use a bigger pot, but the nice thing about herbs is how easy it is to repot them in bigger containers as needed.
What way does your balcony face?
That bench is adorable, side note.
So I’ve noticed you labeled your rosemary “thyme.”
Rosemary will grow 3 feet tall and 4 feet wide and will need a much larger pot.
Skull and crossbones sign needed for the peppermint
1. A bigger pot for the cucumber, doesn’t need to be huge. Especially as you are limited on space. Yes, let it climb but you can put up designated string for it to climb on and train it by wrapping the new vines around it. Also move it from under the table so it has the room it needs to grow.
2. If you happen to have outdoor outlets, you can mount a small grow light to give your plants access more sunlight.
3. Tomatoes are easy to grow and are hardy. The difference in taste of homegrown vs store bought is mind boggling.
4. Deal with pests early and swiftly. Preventive measures are key.
5. Each year is a chance to learn what works for your grow environment and keeping a grow journal will help you remember all of your experiences. Have fun!

That tomato needs to be put in a better pot. Otherwise everything looks good.
That peppermint is plotting her escape.
