It is announced with great sadness the passing peacefully of Loretta, a deeply cherished wife, in her home in Vancouver, B.C.

Loretta is survived by her husband, Glenn Barr, her brother Roger (Lil )Gardener, newphews Ernie ( Martha) Gardener and Dean (Estelle)Gardener and nieces Renee Fitch and Arlene ( David ) Merritt, stepson Ted ( Nora ) Swanson and adult stepchildren, Astrid and Glen Swanson and sister-in-law Sylvia Peterson

Loretta was born at Vancouver General Hospital but grew up in Richmond, B.C. with her parents and brother, Rog

Loretta spent much of her life working for B.C. Hydro, planting and volunteering with VanDusen Botanical Gardens, gardening at her home and travelling to Maui and elsewhere, whenever the opportunity presented itself

The Barr Family would like to thank all of Loretta’s many caregivers and others, who altered our home, to accommodate her fading health. Each caregiver was very supportive , caring,and helped significantly to sustain her quality of life in recent years

Dr Matthias Dahlmanns, of the Seymour Clinic, needs to be recognized for his helpful and supportive role in providing to Loretta a level of care that was exemplary

A Celebration Of Life will be held in due course and in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to VanDusen Botanical Gardens, Loretta’s favourite Destination and Charity
